The Center for Academic Success (CAS) is located on the main floor of the Learning Resource Center on main campus. Our goal in CAS is to help Butte College students succeed academically. CAS is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and services are free for all currently enrolled Butte College students. Students are always asked to check in when accessing any CAS services.
Free Tutoring is available in many subjects. No appointment is necessary. For more information on tutoring and schedules, please go to CAS Tutoring.
Tutor-Supported Drop-in Computer Labs, located in LRC 224 (inside CAS) and LRC 143, offer computers for student academic use. See CAS Rooms and Labs for further details about the labs.
CAS Critical Skills Workshops are scheduled throughout the semester. The Main Campus Workshop Schedule and the Chico Center Workshop Schedule are available as handouts at the CAS front desk and at the Academic Support Services Center at the Chico Center. For more information about workshops and the Critical Skills Study Hour ½-unit course, please go to Critical Skills Workshops and Course.
Group Study Rooms inside CAS are available for student use. Rooms can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. See CAS Rooms and Labs for further details.
The Student Athlete Success Program is supervised by Coach Bobby Bernal-Wood during scheduled hours inside CAS for students pursuing academic as well as athletic goals. CAS takes pride in this highly effective program. Contact CAS staff or the Butte College Athletic Department for more information.
CAS TIP Sheets are online resources that offer specific information on more than 85 topics, including writing skills, such as rules of grammar and punctuation, and reading, study, and job skills. See CAS TIP Sheets to access all topics.
Individual Study Guide Sessions are available by appointment with CAS faculty. Specific study strategies and available resources can be explored with students in individual or group sessions. Call CAS at 895-2386 for more information or to set up an appointment.
Your success is our job!
