The Concurrent Enrollment program allows students to supplement their high school education by attending Butte College courses. Credits earned through the program may be used to fulfill high school and college certificate, transfer, or graduation requirements. If you are interested in enrolling in this program follow these simple steps:
1) Consult with a parent, your school counselor, and your principal.
2) Complete the Butte College application for admission at least ten days prior to the start of the term.
3) Obtain a concurrent enrollment permission form from your high school counselor or by calling (530) 895-2361.
4) Consult with your high school counselor and principal to select appropriate courses. We recommend that you make alternate selections in the event that some of the courses you select may be closed.
5) Complete the concurrent enrollment permission form. Be sure you have the appropriate signatures (counselor, principal, and parent).
6) Complete the Butte College Basic Skills Assessment. Call (530) 895-2350 to schedule an appointment.
7) Return the permission form to the Admissions and Records office on the Main Campus or at any of our center locations at least ten business days prior to the start of the term. Requests submitted after the deadline will be denied and the college will recommend that the student resubmit the request for the following term.
8) Once you have received notification that your request was approved consult the Butte College class schedule for K-12 registration days and times. Be sure to have your four digit control numbers ready when you call TeleReg to register for your classes.
9) If completing courses to obtain high school credit, students will need to request that transcripts must be sent to the high school. The receiving institution (the high school) is responsible for determining and awarding credit.
