The Butte College Service Learning & Volunteerism Program provides a number of services to faculty involved in or interested in participating in a service-learning project. The services provided are not limited to the listing below, so please contact us if you have any questions.

• In-class student orientations (usually with one-week notice)
• Limited student to agency placement
• Sample syllabi in multiple disciplines
• Faculty Handbook
• Ready-made projects available
• School/Small Business/Agency Placement Directory
• Ongoing staff development opportunities
• Information/articles on a variety of subjects relating to Service Learning is available for perusal in the Service Learning & Volunteerism Program Office. (Career Center)
• Discipline specific books
• Semiannual newsletter
• Service-Learning WebCT-based instruction
• Conference presentations
• Local research based on small businesses, area schools, and nonprofit agencies surveys
• Resource materials available to check out from the Butte College library
• Sponsor a faculty member per semester to attend pertinent conference or workshop
• Annual Outstanding Service-Learning Faculty and Student Awards
• Sponsor and participate in special events
• Make individualized student recognition certificates for each student participant, delivered to instructor when instructor provides names
• Student Handbook
• Available for appointments, department meeting presentations and special requests
