Student of the Year Award
PURPOSE
Each year it is an honor to recognize students who are engaged in service-learning within the community. The Office of Service Learning & Volunteerism wants to recognize students who actively volunteer in the community, as well as taking leadership roles to address and meet unmet community need. We want to honor students who make special contributions not only to the campus community, but also to our local community organizations.
PROCESS FOR NOMINATION AND SELECTION
1. The Criteria
The award may be given for contributions made to service-learning by a student in some or all of the following categories. Please limit your nomination form to five pages.
Identify the service-learning project or activity completed by the
student.
Identify the class/instructor the student completed the service-learning
project or activity.
Demonstrated leadership in the area of service-learning.
How has service-learning impacted the student?
Indicate the outcome of the service-learning project or activity.
How the service-learning project or activity has impacted the campus
community and/or community organization.
2. The Selection Process
A committee will review all nomination forms, and submit their recommendation to the Director of Career & Employment Services.
3. The Award
One student will be chosen for this award each year. The student will be presented with a plaque.
