Student Use Hours
On main campus, the Center for Academic Success is located on the main floor of the Learning Resource Center in Room LRC 203. CAS is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Access to CAS is free to all currently enrolled Butte College students. Tutors' schedules are always posted outside CAS. When entering CAS, students are required to check in at the front desk. All you need to check in is your Butte College ID number. To find your ID number, go to the WebAdvisor "What's My Butte College ID?" page. If it is your first visit to CAS, you will be asked to complete a Request for Services form. This helps us track student use of our services to better serve you.
CAS tutors also support students at the Chico Center and the Glenn County Center. In the Academic Support Services Center on the second floor of the Chico Center, Dan Buzan can tell you about tutoring hours in Chico (897-4366). Cori Enos can give you tutoring information for Glenn County (895-2429).
Drop-In Computer Lab Hours
The main CAS drop-in Computer Lab is located inside CAS in LRC 224. Hours for this lab are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm. An additional drop-in lab on main campus is located in LRC 143 (first floor of the Learning Resource Center). The hours in LRC 143 are Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. In both these drop-in labs, Computer Tutors are available and check-in is always required.
At the Chico Center, the computer lab in CHC 232 is available when classes are not in session in the lab, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Test Proctoring Hours
Test proctoring is available through CAS, with prior arrangements by your instructor. Hours for test proctoring are: Tuesday through Wednesday, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm; and Fridays 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Contact Amy, the CAS Secretary, at 895-2808 or hughesam@butte.edu for more information about this service.
We cannot facilitate oral exams in CAS. Neither can we collect or track assignments or papers. Our top priority is security of tests, and we proctor exams for increasing numbers of instructors each semester. Your cooperation is appreciated.
