Interview by Brad Zuniga
Q: Where did you graduate High School?
I graduated from Oroville High School in 1996.
Q: Why did you choose to attend Butte College?
I chose to attend Butte College through the college connection program
because I heard great things about their professor of math and science
from other students.
Q: What did you like most about Butte College?
I liked the diversity. It was nice to have all ages and ethnicities of
people in my classes. It seems that the majority of the students were
more serious about getting a good education then my experiences at a University.
Q: What surprised you most about Butte College?
I think that I was most surprised by the quality of instructors. Some
of my best professor were at Butte College.
Q: What words of advice would you give to a new
Butte College student?
See an advisor before you register for classes. It will save you time
and money in the long run because they can help you determine the right
classes to take for the degree that you want and also help you make sure
that all of the classes that you take are transferable to the four year
university that you plan to attend
.Q: Where do you work and what is your current
job title?
I work for CH2MHILL in Redding CA. My current job title is Transportation
Engineer.
Q: How did Butte College prepare you for your
job?
Butte College helped me prepare for a 4-year University. I feel that I
had an advantage over most students just entering the CSU system because
I was able to ease into college life at the comfort of Butte College’s
small and friendly environment. I got a lot of experience working with
all types of people at Butte College. In my job I worked with a lot of
people that bring different ideas to the table and I feel that my experiences
at Butte College helped me learn how to work with the diversity
