Quick Guide to Butte College Admission
7 - Step Enrollment Process
The earlier you start the process, the earlier you register and the more classes available from which to select!
Step 1: Fill out the APPLICATION and mail it to A & R, 3536 Butte Campus Dr., Oroville, CA. 95965, or drop it off! Don't have one? Call Campus Information, (530) 895-2511. Better yet, apply online at, www.butte.edu or download the application. Don't forget to mail in the signature page.
Step 2: Send Official TRANSCRIPTS immediately from all of the colleges you have previously attended. It takes awhile, so allow six weeks for delivery. Also, don't assume they have arrived, confirm it by calling (530) 895-2361.
Step 3*: Contact the ASSESSMENT Office at (530) 895-2350 so we can establish your placement levels in English, reading and math. The counselors use this information to recommend appropriate classes. Placement levels are established by either:
•Taking the Basic Skills Assessment or
• Having your english and/ or math coursework or test scores from other
colleges evaluated.
Step 4*: Contact the ORIENTATION Office at (530) 895-2416 to sign up for the first available Orientation date. Orientation includes a campus tour, learning about student support services, college procedures, and registration for classes. Part of Orientation includes meeting with a counselor and selecting your classes. Bus service is not available during Orientation.
Step 5: REGISTER for Classes by TeleReg, (530) 895-5060, or WebReg (WebAdvisor) at www.butte.edu. Your first opportunity to register for classes will be the day of your Orientation. If you are not required to attend Orientation, consult the Class Schedule for your assigned registration times. Students should verify adds and drops online and check their balances due.
Step 6: PAY all College Fees by the end of the second week of the semester. You may pay one of three ways:
• Charge to a Visa or MasterCard over the phone or on the Web at the time of registration.
• Send a check or money order to Butte College, A & R. Your ID number must be on the check.
• Pay in person with cash, check or credit cards at the A & R window on campus or at the Chico or Glenn County Centers.
Note: Apply for the BOGG fee waiver and save yourself the cost of enrollment fees. Call (530) 895-2566.
Step 7: ATTEND CLASSES. If you are going to miss the first day of class, contact the instructor to hold your spot. It is the student's responsibility to drop classes. See the class schedule for the refund policy.
